Picking Mussels at low tide and cooking them on the beach in salt water is a maritime tradition. A warm fire, the cool ocean breeze and the salty flavor of fresh mussels combine to create a delicious treat. Use our marinade to capture the flavor of that ocean experience. Farmer John’s Maritime Mussel Marinaire

Johns Own Recipe -
Ingredients:
• 1/4 cup (65 ml) butter
• 1 package of Farmer John’s Maritime Mussel Marinaire
• 1/4 cup (65 ml) wine or water
• 2 lbs (1 kg) mussels, scrubbed with beards removed
In a deep saucepan saute butter and Farmer John’s Mussel Mix for 1 minute. Add wine or water and cook for 2 minutes. Add mussels. Cover and cook for 6 minutes or until the mussel shell have opened. Discard any unopened mussels. Place cooked mussels in a serving bowl and pour the cooking juice over the top.
